Yes, there is a small community of Japanese citizens living in the island on a permanent or long term basis. According to data from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, there are 81 Japanese nationals residing in Cyprus as of June 2021. Furthermore, in 2022 the "Cyprus-Japan Friendship Association" was established in Cyprus to promote the collaboration between the people of our countries.

Most common flight routes are through major airport hubs in the Middle East ( Dubai, Doha, etc.) and Europe (Amsterdam, Frankfurt, etc.). Unfortunately there is no direct flight from Japan to Cyprus yet.
